‘Music to my ears’, ‘Sell him’ – Liverpool fans encouraged by journalist’s claim on Twitter

The Liverpool fans are feeling confident in the Transfer Tavern ahead of their side’s trip to face Porto at the Estadio Do Drago tomorrow evening.

Jurgen Klopp takes his side to Portugal tomorrow for the first leg of Liverpool’s last-sixteen encounter against Porto. The Portuguese league-leaders are currently unbeaten in Liga Nos this season with 10 wins from their 11 home fixtures to show for their efforts so far. They have also scored 34 goals during the same period which averages out at marginally over 3 goals per game, so there is no doubt that Liverpool will need to be at their very best to contain the attacking threat of Porto tomorrow evening.

Ahead of the fixture, The Northern Football Correspondent for The Times, namely Paul Joyce, wrote an article stating that Lorius Karius is expected to start in goal tomorrow evening ahead of Simon Mignolet.

Joyce also suggested that Liverpool’s Belgian goalkeeper may well have played his last game for the club due to Klopp’s preference to use Karius as his number one stopper.

In response to Joyce’s article, the supporters turned out in their numbers to slate Mingolet and call for the club to offload him in the next transfer window.

Both of Liverpool’s aforementioned goalkeeping options have been slated and consistently labelled as one of the core reasons behind The Reds failure to mount a genuine title challenge in recent years, so it’s no surprise that the supporters are hoping Joyce’s claim will turn true this summer.

Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Mignolet’s future on Twitter…
