It’s no secret that Tottenham failed to sign a single player in the transfer window. Mauricio Pochettino’s side is completely unchanged and it looks like that could come to bite them. However, in January they could go looking for some incomings and the fans have highlighted Nabil Fekir after his superb performance last night at The Etihad.
Tottenham could really do with an extra injection of quality and that is exactly what Fekir would provide. Harry Kane looks out of sorts, Heung-Min Son has only just returned from a draining international tournament, Dele Alli is injured and Christian Eriksen is getting nowhere near the levels of performance he’s recently been putting in for his country. All of the signs point towards Tottenham needing an extra something and Fekir would provide that.
It’s hard not to feel sorry for the Frenchman in a way. He had a move to Liverpool all done and dusted and had even recorded his welcome video to the club. However, hours before his unveiling Liverpool went back to Lyon to try and negotiate a lower fee, citing the player’s injury record as the reason. The move inevitably fell through after that and now Tottenham could be set to benefit from Liverpool’s loss if they swoop for the classy World Cup winner.
You can see the Lilywhites’ Fekir verdict here:
I said last season why should have signed Fekir, and I repeat the same this season.

I'd happily have Fekir & Ndombele at Spurs, could've gone after both in the summer, class acts & would massively improve our squad.

Spurs should’ve really pushed to sign Fekir from Lyon.

Tottenham would be a much better side if they signed Fekir, but it’s always going to be tough to prise such a superstar from their club midseason.
