Naby Keita suffers injury blow on international duty

Liverpool have had a bit of a nightmare in regards to injuries during the international break and things do not appear to be getting any better for them.

Mohamed Salah has recently gone down as a doubt for their game against Huddersfield Town when they return to Premier League action at the weekend after he picked up a problem turning out for Egypt.

Sadio Mane also received an injury to his thumb when on international duty for Senegal that could also force him to miss the away day to Yorkshire, whilst Virgil van Dijk is also a doubt with a rib injury.

Now, according to reports by The Daily Mirror, Jurgen Klopp looks to have received another potentially damaging injury blow this week.

It is being claimed that Naby Keita is the latest man to have received a knock in the international break, as he is suspected of suffering a thigh injury when in action for Guinea in their African Cup of Nations clash with Rwanda.

Although the extent of the injury is not yet known, he allegedly had to leave the field with the help of his team-mates, as no stretcher was present.

The Verdict:

Klopp would have already been disappointed to learn that a number of his players will be returning to Anfield with injury concerns before learning about his latest setback.

Although the extent of the injury is not yet known, those connected to Liverpool will be hoping that it is not too serious and will be keen to see him back in the team shortly.

The Reds will be considered strong favourites to do a job against Huddersfield despite all their injury concerns, but they would be far happier to have their key men available for the game.
