Napoli look to end Simon Mignolet’s Liverpool nightmare

One Liverpool man is preparing to leave Anfield this summer, as a move is thought to be edging closer.

According to a report in The Sun, Simon Mignolet could be about to end his nightmare with the Reds in the coming days, with Napoli believed to be interested.

The transfer window closes on Friday in Italy and the Serie A side are keen to step up their efforts to find a replacement for Alex Meret, who broke has broken his arm and left Napoli short of goalkeeping options.

The Belgium international has found life at Liverpool rather tough recently, having seen himself be demoted by Loris Karius midway through last season and is thought to be further down the pecking line with the arrival of Alisson from AS Roma.

The Verdict:

Mignolet has had a nightmare year at Liverpool and it would only be right for him to leave the club in order to get first-team football.

The Belgian has struggled with the Reds at times during his career, making a number of mistakes that at times have proven costly and seen those at the club become frustrated with his performances.

With the arrival of Alisson as their new number one and Karius expected to take the second choice spot and play their cup matches, Mignolet will have to wait for his chance if he were to remain at Anfield whereas he could have regular Serie A football with Napoli.
