Napoli prepare to hijack Arsenal’s midfielder move

RabiotArsenal fans playing darts in the Transfer Tavern have stopped their game abruptly to complain about the latest transfer rumours, with it being suggested they could miss out on a long-term target.

Talksport, reporting via Sky Sport Italia, state that Napoli are looking to beat Arsenal to the signature of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The French midfielder is frustrated with his lack of playing time in the French capital and could be on the way out in January, having found chances in Paris extremely limited due to the vast competition for places.

Arsenal have been tipped to lodge a bid for the defensive-midfielder when the window reopens, with Francis Coquelin out injured until February, but the interest of another top-club will be a major concern.

The Gunners would be able to offer first-team football in the short-term but Rabiot would have no guarantees when Coquelin returns to full fitness, which could put Rabiot in a similar position to what he’s currently enduring in Ligue 1.

Arsenal fans are hopeful they can finally add a defensive midfielder to their ranks in January, having cried out for an addition in this area for years.
