Napoli striker wants to lower his release clause, Premier League clubs alerted to major breakthrough

Gonzalo HiguainOur landlord here in the Transfer Tavern has been alerted to some positive news for fans of the bigger Premier League clubs in his copy of Gazzetta dello Sport, who are claiming that Gonzalo Higuain has made a request to Napoli to lower his release clause from £72 million down to £47 million.

The ex-Real Madrid striker looks set to leave the Serie A outfit during the summer and Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have all expressed an interest in the player previously.

The Argentinean striker is one of the most feared marksmen in world football and the news that his valuation is set to plummet could arouse the interested suitors towards a bid.

Higuain has netted an astonishing 36 goals during the 2015/16 campaign and the Manchester United supporters here in the Transfer Tavern are relishing Higuain becoming available.

One Red Devils supporter is sat with a cold pint of cider in the beer garden and he believes the Argentinean striker would fire United to the Premier League title should he sign.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal fans, would you welcome Higuain to your club? Can he score goals in the Premier League?
