The Daily Mirror suggest that Belgium boss Marc Wilmots is keen for Eden Hazard to leave Stamford Bridge and join Real Madrid, as he fears his key midfielder will suffer from a Premier League burnout caused by the intensity in England.
With Belgium having vast expectations ahead of the European Championships next summer, with the Red Devils recently crowned the new number one in FIFA’s international rankings, Wilmots is under pressure to make his squad full of stars succeed in France.
Hazard, last season’s PFA Player Of The Year, has struggled to replicate his immense form from last season with just one assist to his name this campaign, whilst he was left out of Chelsea’s recent victory over Aston Villa.
Reports on Wilmots’ stance come after rumours yesterday that the wing-wizard had informed friends and colleagues he is seeking a move to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.
The Chelsea faithful sinking a few beers at the bar are confident they will get a high-price for Hazard’s services but genuinely believe he has much more to offer, claiming that he is a future Ballon D’Or winner.
