Arsenal have been completely redefined under the guidance of Unai Emery in the current campaign, which has filled supporters with plenty of confidence.
The Gunners are going strong in the Europa League and are on course to secure a Champions League spot in the Premier League, so things are definitely looking up for the North London club.
However, Emery’s side suffered a huge setback on the transfer front recently, as according to ESPN (via Mundo Deportivo), Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo has stated that Ousmane Dembele is totally committed to Barcelona.
Interestingly, the Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates.
But, it appears as if the Gunners won’t be signing him anytime soon as Nelson Semedo has stated that Ousmane Dembele is “totally committed” to Barcelona following talk regarding a move away from the Nou Camp.
Here’s what the Portuguese defender had to say about Dembele’s future:
“He is an excellent player, with a lot of potential and will help us a lot,
“He is totally committed to the team. Now he is more responsible and is showing it in the field.
“It must continue like this, and I am convinced that it will.”
Ousmane Dembele, who is valued at £72 million (by Transfermarkt), is a special player and he has the potential to become one of the best attackers in world football if he continues to develop, so it comes as no surprise that the Gunners have been heavily linked.
Although, with Dembele’s Barcelona team-mate stating that he is totally committed to playing at the Nou Camp, it comes as a huge blow for Arsenal as he could have been the player to take them to the next level and would have filled the Alexis Sanchez void.
