The Aston Villa fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports regarding the club’s summer budget.
The Birmingham Mail is reporting that whoever takes over the vacant mangers post at the club for next season will be handed a summer transfer budget of £30-40 million.
The new owners of the club are looking for an immediate return to the Premier League come the end of next season after losing their status as a top flight team after a disastrous campaign for the Midlands club.
The club were brought by Chinese businessman Dr Tony Xia yesterday for between £75-100 million from Randy Lerner, and he wants the club back amongst Englands’s elite as quickly as possible.
Speculation that Roberto Di Matteo is who Xia wants as boss and will be interesting to see who the club attract to Villa Prk player wise this summer.
The Aston Villa fans in The Tavern are delighted with the news that the new manager will have major funds to spend after years of false promises from the previous regime it seems like a breath of fresh air to many.
