Guus Hiddink, who will take charge of the Blues until the end of the season after Jose Mourinho’s dismissal last week, seems to be already making potentially exciting plans for the January transfer window.
Fichajes states the Dutch manager has demanded the club’s hierarchy go all out to secure the signature of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid, believing the Colombian can save their disastrous season.
Chelsea are just three points above the relegation zone after 17 matches played, finding themselves 11 points behind the top-four at Christmas and needing a miracle in the second-half of the season.
Meanwhile in Madrid, James Rodriguez is said to be unhappy with the situation under Rafael Benitez. Competition with the likes of Gareth Bale, Mateo Kovacic and Cristiano Ronaldo has left the Colombian frustrated with his regular playing opportunities.
It’s said Rodriguez is looking for an exit away from the club in January and Hiddink is desperate Chelsea are the club he decides to join.
