Liverpool and Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have their differences at the best of times, often having to be separated when arguments break out on whether Luis Garcia’s goal actually did cross the line, and the war has been reignited with the latest reports.
The Daily Express claims incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is looking to make a move for Roma’s 21-year-old midfielder Leandro Paredes as an alternative to his team-mate Radja Nainggolan, which isn’t great news for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp has cast his eye on the talented midfielder, who’s starred on-loan with Empoli this term, and last month it was reported the Reds would offer Christian Benteke as bait to persuade Roma into agreeing a deal.
However, the emergence of Chelsea in the market is a concern for Klopp’s side as the London outfit are renowned to be stronger financial, although Liverpool are more likely to be able to offer experiences in European football next term.
It’s a battle our landlord is finding it difficult to call but he believes the youngster possesses the ability to shine in the Premier League.
