New deal leaves Manchester United’s transfer hopes in tatters

Gareth BaleThe Daily Express are certainly raising a fair few eyebrows on the faces of our punters here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim that Gareth Bale is set to sign a long-term deal at Real Madrid.

This is of course bad news for Manchester United and Chelsea, both of whom had notions of brining the £120 million-rated player back to the Premier League.

As our punters note, given Bale has won pretty much everything there is to win in Spain already and is even on course to win the La Liga title this season, we thought he could well consider a move back to England.

That does not seem to be the case with Bale willing to commit his future to Real Madrid with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez recently claiming the Welsh international will not be going anywhere.

This is not to mention the fact that Bale will now net himself an improved deal to boot and our regulars note that the interest from the Premier League sides has worked out pretty well for Bale!

Manchester United fans. There has been a lot of talk surrounding Bale in recent months but does your attacking line really need the former Tottenham star? Let us know your thoughts below.
