New Eden Hazard targeted by Tottenham Hotspur

HazardTottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been licking their lips after eating our house-special ribs- but it could also be due to a tasty rumour that they discussed at their table.

Our barmaid overheard a conversation regarding Sofiane Boufal, as The Evening Standard declare Spurs are lining-up a January swoop for the man dubbed the ‘new Eden Hazard’.

Boufal, 22, has already scored three goals in eight Ligue 1 appearances for Hazard’s former side Lille and the reports claim he has been regularly scouted by representatives of Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Lille captain Rio Mavuba sparked more comparisons to Chelsea star Hazard, stating:

“He reminds me of Eden when he was playing here. It is striking, he likes the ball, even if he plays too much sometimes. But he is young, you have to let him grow.”

Already capped at international level by Morocco, our Spurs punters believe he has the capability of emulating Gareth Bale at White Hart Lane- which would certainly not be an easy task.
