New manager aims to convince duo to stay at Everton upon arrival

According to The Mirror, Koeman’s first priority when he is announced as the new Everton boss is to convince both youngster John Stones and Romelu Lukaky to stay at Goodison Park.

Koeman is set be named as the new Everton boss in the coming days after a agreeing a contract which is believed to be worth in the region of £6 million, following the sacking of Roberto Martinez last season.

With the Euros kicking off next Friday, the Dutch coach hopes to make contact with the pair before the tournament begins, to wrap up the situation as soon as possible.

Everton’s new majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri, is leading the negotiations to bring Koeman in and he is agreeing to pay the compensation for the manager’s final year at Southampton.
