According to Metro, incoming manager Louis van Gaal has targeted Dutchman Arjen Robben to be the first man in during his Manchester United revolution.
van Gaal knows all about the 30-year-old winger having managed him as part of the Netherlands national team.
And Robben knows all about what it takes to success in England having had a more than successful period in the Premier League with Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.
He now believes that he can earn the former Real Madrid and Chelsea star’s signature for around £25 million from German giants Bayern Munich.
Any deal would see Robben earn a big percentage rise on his already tasty £160,000 per week with Manchester United unable to offer Champions League football as he comes to an important stage of his career.
But Manchester United are set to spend big this summer as they look to rebuild their depleted squad in the search for Champions League football and silverware.
And a few marquee signings look set to walk through the Old Trafford doors before the start of the next season.
Manchester United fans. Is Arjen Robben too old to spending such a big fee on or does he still have a lot to offer back in the Premier League? Let us know your thoughts below.
