With no game this weekend, Liverpool supporters took the chance to enjoy a Saturday afternoon in the Football Transfer Tavern watching how their Premier League rivals got on.
One piece of transfer gossip has caught their eye as the Daily Star report that Liverpool are monitoring Valencia midfielder Dani Parejo with a potential transfer in the offing.
As one knowledgeable punter remarks, Parejo previously spent time in England on loan with Queens Park Rangers during the 2008 season although he was regarded as something of a disappointment at Loftus Road.
Since then, the 24-year-old Spaniard has been impressing in La Liga with Getafe and now Valencia.
That could reportedly see Brendan Rodgers fetching him back to England in the summer after scouts from Anfield were present at recent Los Che match
But Rodgers faces a tough task to convince Valencia boss Juan Antonio Pizzi to part with Parejo.
Pizzi is desperate to keep Parejo, who has also enjoyed spells with Real Madrid and Getafe, at the Mestalla and will demand a large fee to stave off interest from Liverpool.
