Newcastle boss issue’s bold warning after Everton’s Sissoko chase

It’s been a busy summer for Toon fans in the Transfer Tavern; but Rafa Benitez is refusing to let any of his stars leave on the cheap…

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has issued a bold warning to Everton and Ronald Koeman as the Merseyside club eye a move for Moussa Sissoko.

Sissoko has endured a summer of transfer speculation surrounding his future after his strong showing at Euro 2016 – and Everton have been keen to land the French midfielder ever since.

But Rafa, speaking before his sides’ game against Reading has confirmed that Everton shouldn’t be expecting a cheap deal for the talented attacker.

“Moussa is now the big name in the market” explained Benitez, “If someone wants Moussa, they have to pay,” he told the Liverpool Echo.

Despite his suggestions on the contrary, our Landlord reckons Benitez wouldn’t be able to hold on to Sissoko if an Everton offer did come in.

It has been a surprisingly slow summer at Everton since the arrival of Ronald Koeman, with the trio of just Idrissa Gueye, Yannick Bolasie and Martin Stekelenberg coming in so far.

Everton will be hoping to push for a top-six finish this season and some Toffees fans here at the Football Transfer Tavern believe the signing of the Frenchman would really help any bid for European qualification at Goodison Park.

Toon fans, will he stay or will he go? Everton fans – would you be interested in a move for the Frenchman?Let us know what you think in the comments below!
