Newcastle United have finally landed one of their main targets this summer as they look to round up their transfer business.
Rafa Benitez has already managed to add a couple of players so far as he looks to give his side the best possible chance of being competitive in the Premier League.
Martin Dubravka, Fabian Schar, Ki Sung-yeung, Yoshinori Muto and Kenedy have all joined the St. James’ Park outfit and the Spaniard has finally managed to land a striker with top-flight experience.
According to an announcement on the club’s official website, Newcastle have confirmed the arrival of West Bromwich Albion’s Salomon Rondon on a season-long loan deal, with Dwight Gayle heading in the opposite direction in a similar agreement.
Benitez has been chasing the Venezuela international for the majority of the summer, however, it was expected that they would have signed him on a permanent deal following the Baggies relegation.
Newcastle will be delighted to have finally landed Rondon this summer.
The Venezuelan will offer plenty of experience to the Magpies as they look to improve on last season’s outstanding campaign and will provide a threat going forward.
The 28-year-old still managed to find the back of the seven times in the Premier League, despite having limited service, and he will be hoping to build on that with the likes of Matt Ritchie and Kenedy down the flanks.
