Newcastle could offer this Spurs flop an escape route this season

Newcastle got off to a losing start in their return to the Premier League last weekend, going down 2-0 to Spurs in a tough opening game game to the season.

In Rafa Benitez though, the Toon have a manager who knows exactly what he is doing and is experienced enough to know just what his side needs as we approach the final two weeks of the season.

Our landlord here in the Tavern thinks that with a few solid additions, the Magpies could surprise a few in the top flight, despite their losing start.

He’s been in some deep discussions this week with some of the Toon Army, and they are keen to see another striker brought in before the window closes.

One player who our landlord has mentioned is Spurs and Holland striker Vincent Janssen, who flopped last term in his debut Premier League campaign.

The Dutchman spent the season woefully out of form following his big money move to London last summer, but there remains a belief he could deliver with regular football under his belt.

The chance to move to St James’ Park and play in front of passionate supporters like the Toon Army could be the sort of thing which is the making of someone like Janssen. He might well in his head have a point to prove, meaning this could well be to Newcastle’s gain.

Newcastle will need goals, and Janssen might well be the answer if the club could persuade Spurs to part ways with the striker on a loan deal.

Newcastle fans, what do you think? Good signing or no chance? Let us know!
