Newcastle fans are so right: Newcastle should avoid sending Elias Sorensen to National League club - Newcastle United

Newcastle United are expected to enter the transfer market this January in the hopes of landing a new striker.

The Magpies have struggled in front of goal this season, having scored just nine times in their 12 Premier League matches, although they have started to find the net on a more consistent basis.

Salomon Rondon has netted in the last two matches to help give the Geordies back-to-back wins, however, the likes of Yoshinori Muto and Joselu have failed to get going, whilst Ayoze Perez just has one to his name so far.

Elias Sorensen has been performing extremely well in the developmental side, having been rather prolific, which has led to fans calling for him to be handed a chance in Rafa Benitez’s first-team squad.

However, there are reports suggesting that he could be loaned out in January to get a taste of regular first-team football and fans were not happy about the idea on Twitter.

A number of them had felt it would be wrong to send the teenager away with many feeling that a move to Hartlepool, who play their football in the National League, would not be beneficial.

And, you would have to agree with them in saying that a move to England’s fourth-tier would not benefit him and should be looking elsewhere.

Although it would be a huge risk to put the Dane in the first-team this season, he would be better off playing in a league with a better standard of football.

There is no doubt that the National League is competitive, however, Sorensen and Newcastle would likely have better options to consider should he be available to leave St. James’ Park and the club should look to consider them all before making a decision.
