Newcastle United

Newcastle fans really aren’t happy with their club following news of key setback

Newcastle United supporters in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly anticipating their side’s trip to Bournemouth in the Premier League, as they seek to back up their excellent win over Manchester United last time out with another this weekend.

Rafa Benitez’s men produced an excellent performance to edge the Red Devils 1-0 in their previous league encounter, a result which moved them out of the bottom three and up to the dizzy heights of 13th place. And the North East giants can move another three points closer to Premier League safety when they travel to Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth on Saturday, with the Magpies knowing that victory over the Cherries would take them above the South Coast outfit in the division, and possibly five points clear of danger.

Thus, there are many optimistic Newcastle supporters in the Tavern at present, several of whom are sincerely hoping their team produce the same level of performance against Bournemouth as they did against Jose Mourinho’s United a fortnight ago.

Fans of the Football FanCast Accy Show will know that we tend to recommend a Premier League outright win treble each week. Those fans might also be aware that this coupon has paid out on many occasions—including the last PL game week!

And several of our resident Magpies fans have been digesting their side’s team news ahead of Saturday’s encounter, with January signing Islam Slimani again set to miss out after suffering a setback in his recovery from a thigh problem.

The 29-year-old made the move to St James’ Park on deadline day but has so far failed to feature for the North East giants, although undertook extra training in the last few weeks in a bid to recover quicker from a thigh injury.

Yet Benitez disclosed in his pre-match press conference that the striker looks set for a few more weeks out with injury, in news which has unsurprisingly stimulated quite a response from Newcastle fans on Twitter.

And it’s fair to say that they are not happy with the club for sanctioning the move in the January window…
