Newcastle fans bombard club’s tweet with backing for Rafa - Arsenal

Newcastle United is not the club that you want to be supporting during a transfer window. The fans are sick and tired of being stuck in Mike Ashley’s stranglehold and as the tension grows surrounding Rafa Benitez’s future. The fans have decided to take a stand against Ashley and have got the hashtag IfRafaGoesWeGo trending on Twitter, bombarding their club’s tweets with replies.

This summer, Newcastle United are currently sitting on a net spend of -£6 million after spending just £4 million on Martin Dubravka and selling Mikel Merino for £10 million. The Magpies are one of the only club’s who have made a profit this summer. If the club keeps going along the path they are then it’s just a matter of time until they end up back in the Championship, and it’s unlikely Mike Ashley will sell up.

This summer has been an interesting one for a lot of clubs. Arsenal have made a number of signings, Liverpool have developed a squad that looks like Premier League challengers, however, at St James Park things look bleak. The club are set to face Tottenham on the opening weekend of the Premier league in just under three weeks and it’s very unlikely that Ashley will have funded any incomings in that time.

As you can see, the fans are finally standing up to Mike Ashley and will support Rafa Benitez until he finally gets what he deserves.
