Newcastle fans on Twitter have been coming to terms with the fact that they’re probably going to be making a profit with their transfer business this summer. The sale of Mikel Merino was announced earlier on Real Sociedad’s official Twitter account and the club doesn’t look close to signing anyone in the coming days.
IN: Dubravka (£4m), Ki Sung-Yeung (Free), Kenedy (Loan).
OUT: Haidara (Free), Gamez (Free), Good (Free), Merino (£10m).
Still plenty of work for #nufc to do with imminent departures of Mbemba (£6m-£8m) and likely Mitro (£18m-£20m).
4 weeks left.

This summer the Magpies have signed Martin Dubravka and Sung-Yeung Ki for a total amount of £4 million and they’ve also completed a loan deal for Chelsea’s Kenedy, however, that has them with a £6 million net profit on transfers this summer as Mikel Merino has been sold for £10 million. Making a profit in a transfer window is an impressive feat for a Premier League club and one that the Geordies really don’t want.
The fans have been looking into every rumour that they get linked with and it looks like they could be signing both Andros Townsend and a striker in this window. It’s yet to be seen what striker they’ll eventually splash out for but given the fact that Aleksandar Mitrovic will be off they will need to replace the Serbian with someone. It’s usually not fun to be a Newcastle fan during a transfer window and Mike Ashley seems determined to make this summer just as tough for the loyal St James Park faithful.
With that in mind, here’s what the Newcastle fans have been saying on Twitter:
Based on that it's clear as day the the message from Ashley is ''generate your own funds".
I absolutely love Rafa, but why he's putting up with this I've no idea.

That's why they waited to announce kenedy! They knew merino was gone and trying to cover themselves. #Ashleyout

6M profit so far. Interesting to see where net spend ends up.

Currently another window of profit, hope it doesn't stay that way

Things aren’t looking good for Newcastle fans this summer and with just four weeks left of the window, it will take a big effort from Rafa Benitez to change the fans opinions of their current window.
