Newcastle fans far from optimistic over Haller signing

If Newcastle United want to stay up this season it looks like the upcoming January window is going to be crucial for them. Mike Ashley simply has to back Rafa Benitez and that could see an expensive window for him. According to The Northern Echo, one man on his way to St James Park could be Eintracht Frankfurt’s Sebastien Haller.

Newcastle United have some pretty dire options up front at the moment. Yoshinori Muto, Ayoze Perez, Joselu and Salomon Rondon can’t buy a goal between them at the moment and in the club’s ten games in the Premier League the only points they’ve secured have come from 0-0 draws. However, if Benitez added Haller to the mix it could be a huge breath of fresh air that might well see the results change.
The 24-year-old frontman has been in fine form this season, contributing 11 goals in his nine Bundesliga appearances, six goals and five assists, and if he comes to the Premier League Benitez will be desperate for him to keep up his goal involvement. A move to England could benefit both the club and the player. Haller, at the age of 24, has made 20 appearances for the France U21 side and scored 13 goals, although a move to the Premier League could see him finally get a senior call-up.

Played 7 (2 sub) – Scored 6 and assisted 5.
I'm sure Frankfurt will happily sell him to us on the cheap. They will want £25m plus— Samuel Brown (@sammyb9999ipad1) October 30, 2018

We can target whoever we want. Doesn’t make a difference whether the deal will go through or not

The Geordies have no confidence of signing Haller and will hope that their club can prove them wrong.
