Upon hearing the news that Newcastle striker Salomón Rondón will be out of action for a few weeks, Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to show their disbelief and despair.
The Venezuelan signed for Newcastle in a season-long loan from West Brom this summer, whilst the Englishman Dwight Gayle went the other way.
However, whilst Gayle has taken to the Championship like a duck to water with The Baggies, scoring five goals in eight games so far this season, Rondón has been less lucky. He has featured a fair amount from the bench so far, and is yet to score in England’s top division for The Magpies.
Fans have hilariously reacted on Twitter, questioning why the club ever got rid of Gayle and replaced him with the Venezuelan. They are also bemoaning the fact that the club sold Aleksandar Mitrović to Fulham in the summer, who has also thrived with The Cottagers.
This is what the fans had to say:
Great switch by Rafa get rid of mitro for this fat dosser
