Newcastle United appear to be starting to kick into gear on the transfer front. This morning the club announced the signing of Fabian Schar from Deportivo La Coruna for a fee of around £3.5 million and now the fans have been voicing their opinions on what else they need before the window closes.
#NUFC are making smart signings for good prices but all they really do is fill much-needed gaps. We still have a lot of work to do.

The club has let a lot of players leave this summer and whilst Rafa Benitez has already done well to secure an adequate winger, goalkeeper and central-midfielder, as well as bringing Schar in to replace Mbemba, the fans still want to see a new full-back and a new striker come into the club as replacements. Aleksandar Mitrovic looks to be on his way out and with a number of potential options you can expect the fans to be calling for a striker right up to deadline day.
The club has been linked with moves for Salomon Rondon, Danny Ings and Divock Origi this summer and whilst those options all look like good fits for St James Park, it would be surprising if the club would be able to fund the move for any of those three for less than £15 million, something that Mike Ashley would be very reluctant to do. This window was looking like it would be a shambles for Newcastle but the way things have gone in the last couple of days have given the fans reason to smile and if they can get in a full-back and a striker it will look even better.

Would love to see Rondon and Bryan in too. Even if we can't have high-cost quality, competition for places in attacking areas is something we sorely lacked last season. Keeps everyone on their toes.

I think Rafa is getting full value for his pennies.

Rondon, Bryan and a Hayden upgrade and we’re sorted.

We need another striker thats for sure.

We don’t know if they’re smart. It’s not often £3.5m and £9m players become smart in this market. let’s see… Its Wimbledon style wheeling and dealing

As you can see, the fans know what their club needs and they’re keen to see Benitez act quickly.
