Newcastle United are a club that’s in real trouble at the moment. The Magpies are bottom of the table with just two points from nine games and if things don’t change soon then they will be relegated. However, with Salomon Rondon returning from injury, their hopes rest on him.

The Geordies look defeated at the moment. The season so far has been nothing but disappointing. The only points they’ve managed to claim have come from 0-0 draws and if they keep going at the rate they are then they’ll be set adrift with no chance of survival before too long. Fortunately, though, they’re not the only slow starters and if Rondon can fire some goals for them then they could climb out of the bottom three.
The next game that the club face is an away trip to St Mary’s. The Saints are also looking worse for wear at the moment and with Mark Hughes failing to inspire many of his players this season after managing to get them out of trouble last season, his days could be numbered as the south coast club look to make a season-saving change. That could provide The Magpies with a chance to pile some misery on Hughes with a win, and Rondon will be key to any sort of win that the club might get on Saturday.

Newcastle fans everywhere are relying on Rondon to get them out of their rut and if he can save them from the drop then he’ll be an instant hero on Tyneside
