Jamaal Lascelles is an integral part of the Newcastle United team. The English centre-back is the club captain at St James Park and it will come as a huge boost to the fans that the 24-year-old has signed on a six-year deal.
We are delighted to announce that captain Jamaal Lascelles has signed a new six-year contract.

Now that he’s signed a new contract, Lascelles will be keen to try and grab the club’s future in the Premier League by the scruff of the neck and keep them in the division, Whilst things aren’t looking good for the Magpies, having teams like Southampton, Huddersfield, Fulham and Cardiff around them is a massive boost, as they’ll only have to outdo three of those teams across the whole season.
Drawing 0-0 away at Cardiff wasn’t ideal, but with home games still to come against all of those sides the fans will expect to get some points on the board sooner or later, even if they’re yet to win any of their first ten games in the league this season. Rafa Benitez will know how important it is to keep his players happy as he continues to chase that first win and with his club captain tied down for six years they’ll be hoping good things will come.

Wow! Didn't see that coming. Either he knows something or there's a clause. Either way, I don't care – great news!

But there’s no money according to some. Well done Mike Ashley. This lad will go on to huge things, mark my words.

Least Ashley will be able to demand a canny fee to go straight into his back pocket if we get relegated back to the championship come May

Will fund our championship budget if we go down.
