Miguel Almiron is the most expensive player in Newcastle United’s history and it has taken him just three months to suffer a season-ending injury. There are just three games left this season, so that’s a huge exaggeration, but seeing as the Paraguayan has done his hamstring, the £20 million man will miss the last couple of weeks.
Miguel Almirón will miss the rest of the season after suffering a hamstring injury in Saturday's 3-1 win over Southampton.

Losing the playmaker is one hell of a blow. The pacey midfield man has got everything that a player needs to succeed in the Premier League and he’ll be gutted that he hasn’t been able to score his first goal for the club in his first season. The 2019/20 season will be his first full season and the goals will surely start flowing thick and fast throughout, but for now, the wait is still on.
The only thing that the injury may be good for is it gives him plenty of time to rest and recover now that the season is over for him. Almiron won’t be playing competitive club football again until August, and that gives him loads of time to prepare and train properly, get to grips with the city and the culture, if he hasn’t done so already, and prepare himself for a massive 2019/20.
You can read the Geordies’ verdict on Almiron’s blow here:
Done his job for the season. Transformed our attack and transition during final phase of play. Team have survived. Put your feet up lad! Great signing!

Sad news but to be honest since he arrived the team has been 100% better.i think without him Newcastle would of got relegated months ago. now it's time to look forwards to next season with more hope and to enjoy the summer

Absolutely devastated. A very important player for us. Him, Ayoze and Rondon have been amazing as a front 3. Get well soon Miguel

The Magpies are desperate to see Almiron return with a bang next season and will sorely miss him for the last three league games of the campaign.
