After another hard slog for the Magpies, with fears of relegation and plenty of ups and downs, Newcastle will stay in the Premier League. The Geordies have just seven games left to look forward and as Rafa Benitez’s side plays out the last few games, the fans have been thinking about who their player of the season is, and it can only be one man.
With just seven games to go, who has been your #nufc Player of the Season? One of these, or someone else?

Despite the fact that he’s set to return to his parent club at the end of the season, Salomon Rondon is that man who deserves the plaudits as the standout performer for Newcastle this season. The Venezuelan striker has been stellar throughout the campaign and certainly knows where the goal is. His tally of nine goals and five assists in 25 Premier League games is incredible, and the fans want him to stay.
There is a strong argument that suggests that without Rondon the Magpies would currently be suffering nearer the foot of the table alongside the likes of Fulham and Huddersfield. The last thing that the Geordies want is another season in the Championship, so the fact that Rondon has done the business, having a hand in 14 of their 31 goals, has made him a hero at St James Park, and the obvious choice for player of the season.

Rondon, hands down.

Rondon. Best number 9 since the big fella @alanshearer

They've all been great to be honest but I think rondon has been the biggest difference in the team
— Sam Gregory (@screg17) March 19, 2019
Rondon as he's been the most consistent throughout

Got to be @salorondon23. Been pivotal to the way we have played and he’s scored some crucial goals. Probably Dubravka, Hayden & Ritchie all worth a shout

Not an easy choice but the big man has hardly missed a game a never been poor. Lead by example
— PaulFrankland (@seatonmag) March 19, 2019
Rondon definitely just gets better and better

The Magpies will be absolutely distraught if they can’t bring Rondon to St James Park on a permanent basis, and it will only be harder to take after his incredible efforts this season.
