When Newcastle United won their fist game of the season last Saturday, whilst it was an Ayoze Perez goal that gave them the three points, it was Sung-yeung Ki’s performance and sublime delivery that really set The Magpies apart from Watford on the day.
Jamaal Lascelles looks likely to be fit for this weekend’s game against Bournemouth.
Jonjo Shelvey and Yoshinori Muto, however, face a tough race against time to make the matchday squad. #nufc

Now, with Jonjo Shelvey looking like he could be facing a race against time to be fit for the game, a lot of the Geordies are willing to give their South Korean creator a chance to show what he’s all about with 90 minutes against high-flying Bournemouth. It certainly won’t be easy for Ki and co, especially given how freely Eddie Howe’s side are playing, but with Ki in the side then Rafa Benitez’s side have every chance of grabbing a famous three points.
The other little bit of injury news is that Jamaal Lascelles looks like he’ll be fit and whilst he’s the club captain and one of their most talented players, the form of Fabien Schar could keep him out of the side. Whoever is chosen to start against The Cherries will have to be right on their game and getting back-to-back wins right before the international break would be a great way to respond to going winless in ten.

Hope Ki can continue his good form then

I'm happy to rest Shelvey rather than rush it. Ki was brilliant against Watford and should fill the void

As long as that 11 that finished the game are all available.

I’m ok with Ki and Perez taking their places this weekend

Rather Schär than Lascelles atm tbh

After Saturdays performance would prefer schar and ki to start over lascelles and Shelvey personally.

The Magpies are all together in calling for Ki to get some game time and will hope the South Korean can inspire his side to another famous win.
