Newcastle fans on Twitter fume that Arter survived Cardiff clash

Newcastle fans haven’t been getting the rub of the green as of late and you can understand why they’re not best pleased with their situation. On Saturday they drew 0-0 at Cardiff and finished with ten men after Isaac Hayden was shown red, however, most of the fans were incensed that it wasn’t ten vs ten after Harry Arter’s challenge on Joselu.

Newcastle fans have been having a tough old time this season and it’s only two games in. The fans are at war with Mike Ashley for his lack of interest and funding and they’re about to go into a run of three games against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City with just one point on the board. That, coupled with the fact that Rafa Benitez and Ashley have reached an impasse over the Spaniards contract talks hasn’t pleased many Magpies.

Most supporters thought they were well within their rights to question the decision not to send off Harry Arter after his ‘professional foul’ on Joselu. The Newcastle forward looked to break and Arter used a lot of force as he scythed him down, leading to the calls for him to go. However, it was very different from the Hayden red card as Hayden slid straight through the back of his man with force, unlike Arter.

The Newcastle fans will be feeling hard done by but it’s time for them to just put the Arter yellow out of the minds and move on to their next game.
