Newcastle fans on Twitter have been laying into Dennis Wise

Dennis Wise, along with Mike Ashley, Joe Kinnear, John Carver and Alan Pardew, is one of the most hated men on Tyneside. The 51-year-old former Chelsea man worked as Newcastle’s director of football for just over a year between January 2008 and April 2009 and his ties with Mike Ashley are obvious. On Sky Sports, he was defending the club’s owner and the fans aren’t best pleased.

Newcastle fans everywhere will tell you that Mike Ashley is a plague on football and on Newcastle United and they would be right. The businessman is exactly that, a businessman who doesn’t take an interest in putting football first as his profit margins continue to grow. Newcastle were one of just three Premier League clubs to make a profit in the transfer market, alongside Watford and Tottenham, and the supporters are far from pleased.

A lot of the Magpies also believe that Sky Sports News have a very pro-Ashley stance when it comes to matters surrounding Newcastle United. Having the likes of Dennis Wise telling sports fans on live TV that Mike Ashley is doing good things for the club is ridiculous and it makes plenty of Newcastle fans fuming that his bias comments can be allowed. It wouldn’t be so much of an issue if the likes of Alan Shearer or Kevin Keegan were also having their say but so far, Sky are showing one side.

The supporters don’t have much love for Dennis Wise and would be interested to see someone like Shearer on Sky to give the fans side of the argument.
