Newcastle fans on Twitter have no faith in signing N’Koulou

It’s getting to the point that Newcastle fans aren’t even reading reports to see who they’re linked with. Most of the supporters are resigned to the fact that they probably won’t make any more transfers this summer. However, for the fans that still hold out a little bit of hope, L’Equipe has linked the Magpies with a move for Torino defender, Nicolas N’Koulou.

last season Rafa Benitez brought in Florian Lejeune to partner up with Jamaal Lascelles at the heart of the Magpies defence and the pair were superb. The Geordies conceded the seventh-least amount of goals last season, with only the top five and Burnley shipping fewer goals than Benitez’s side. However, the club could be set to bring in another defender to bolster that this summer and N’Koulou would be a great fit for the club.
The Cameroonian defender has racked up an impressive 72 caps for his country and has spent the majority of his career in the Ligue 1, however, N’Koulou went on-loan to Torino for the 2017/18 season and became a permanent signing at the Turin club this summer. Now though, the Italian side could be set to make a quick profit on N’Koulou as Sevilla and Newcastle are both heavily interested in the defender.

At this stage, the Newcastle fans are losing hope that they’ll spend money on a signing as they wait for the next free transfer or loan deal to come in.
