Newcastle fans on Twitter in shock at club’s lack of quality

Newcastle took on Leicester City at St James Park in the Premier League yesterday and after another infuriating 90 minutes, the club extended their wait for a league win to seven matches this season. The Magpies have only managed four goals in the league this season, all coming in 2-1 losses, and the 2-0 home loss to Leicester City hasn’t gone down with the supporters.

After a first half Jamie Vardy penalty put the Foxes 1-0 up in the Northeast, Harry Maguire put the game to bed when he capped off what was a man of the match performance with his second-half header. Maguire was too much to handle for Rafa Benitez side and it’s worrying times for the Geordies, who now find themselves in the relegation zone as one of just three sides yet to register a win, alongside Cardiff and Huddersfield.

The only points that the Geordies have picked up have come in 0-0 draws against Cardiff and Crystal Palace and things are looking increasingly bleak for Rafa Benitez’s side. The club’s big summer signing, Salomon Rondon was confirmed to miss the match in the week and whilst off the field issues plague the club and Mike Ashley ownership of the club, the on-field results are starting to struggle as a result.

The Geordies are far from happy with the way this season is going and they’ll be keen to see an upturn in their fortunes sooner or later.
