Salomon Rondon has the ability to keep Newcastle United in the Premier League with his goals. The Venezuelan striker has been out with injury as of late but he was back in the fold for The Magpies yesterday, starting on the bench. However, after coming on with 20 minutes to play the £11.7 million man, as rated by Transfermarkt, failed to have an impact.
Happy to return to the pitch. Huge thanks to our away fans for the support!!

It will come as no surprise to anyone who watched Southampton vs Newcastle that the game was last in the running order on match of the day, as the two sides played out a bore draw 0-0. To make matters worse, Rafa Benitez’s side failed to register a single shot on target in the clash, even after Rondon came on with 20 minutes left. Things look grim for The Geordies at the moment and it will take a big change in fortunes for them to stay up.
After ten games, The Magpies have just three points on the board. Those three points have all come in 0-0 draws against Cardiff, Crystal Palace and Southampton. It looks like it will be a long time coming until the club record a win and to do that they’ll have to better yesterday’s shooting stats of six shots zero on target. However, if Rondon is in from the start then there’s a lot more chance that they can add some goals and the supporters are crying out for a win.
You can read The Magpies’ thoughts on Rondon here:
You deserve your place in the 11, do me a favour take your teammate Perez into the gym will you. A strong wind blows that boy over
