Newcastle fans on Twitter want Elias Sorensen in the senior side after U23 treble

Newcastle’s senior side may be struggling, but the club’s U23s aren’t having the same struggles. Last night they hosted Fulham’s U23s and came out on top, winning 5-2 at Whitley Park. Elias Sorensen grabbed three on the night and after his treble, the fans have been calling for Rafa Benitez to include him in the senior squad. Fans can read the match report from last night’s game here.
It's a hat-trick for Sørensen, who slides home Juanito's cross from close range! 5-2. #NUFC

Elias Sorensen grabbed his first goal of the night before half-time to give his side a 2-0 lead after Tom Allan had given The Geordies the lead. Then, after half-time Sorensen was at it again as he made it 3-0. Fulham gained themselves a lifeline when they grabbed two quick goals through Jayden Harris to rattle the Newcastle fans nerves. The young Geordies held their nerve, though, as Allan and Sorensen both grabbed another on each in the 5-2 win.
The five goals scored by the club’s U23s against Fulham is a larger tally than the Newcastle United senior side have managed in seven Premier League games. Things are looking grim for The Magpies in the league and it would not be the craziest thing in the world if Benitez did take a chance on young Sorensen. Grabbing a hat-trick is always a big achievement and the youngster will be keen to build on it and secure himself a spot in the club’s first team alongside strikers Salomon Rondon and Joselu.
