You have to feel sorry for Ayoze Perez. The Spaniard never fails to give it 100% when he pulls on the black and white striped shirt of Newcastle United, however, the fans often get on his back when things aren’t going his way. Yesterday saw him have a good game away at Huddersfield, and he should have made it 2-0 had it not been for an awful decide call.
65' – Pérez has the ball in the net with a glorious finish from Atsu's pass, but the flag goes up. That looked very tight indeed… 0-1. #NUFC

Newcastle fans always seem to up against it. Whether it’s not having the calibre of players to compete to the level that the fans demand, being stuck in an ongoing battle with a negligent tyrant owner or constantly being on the wrong end of referees’ ineptitude, it always seems to be them. Thankfully though, yesterday’s wrong decision wasn’t enough to cost them the win as they held out for a 1-0.
That won’t make things easier for the fans to take. Even though a well-worked Salomon Rondon strike was enough to see them take all three points away from Yorkshire, the supporters will feel aggrieved that they were cost the breathing room they all wanted by a flag-happy linesman. The club’s next game comes against Fulham next Saturday, and they’ll be hoping that they have better luck with referees.

Newcastle fans everywhere were fuming at the decision and would have been given some much-needed breathing room had the officials done their jobs as well as Ayoze Perez did his.
