Newcastle fans on Twitter would do anything to get rid of useless Joselu

Newcastle fans aren’t massive fans of Joselu and it’s easy enough to see why. The Spaniard boasts a minute to goal ratio of around a striker every 380 minutes, and his return of seven goals in 50 appearances for the Magpies hasn’t made him a favourite. However, latest reports from The Chronicle claim he could be on his way out this month.

The Geordies are in a position of real danger at the moment. With Mike Ashley forking out more money on another high-street chain in Valerie Patisserie it means the club will be receiving even less financial backing than they already were if that’s even possible. Meaning that the Magpies will need to sell if they want to buy, and Joselu is the first man that the Magpies want out of the door.

Having a striker who can genuinely add goals and look like a threat is something that the Magpies lack when Salomon Rondon isn’t playing, and if they want to avoid mirroring West Brom’s efforts last season of relying too heavily on the Venezuelan and going down then they’ll need to bring in a striker. With interest from both Europe and China for Joselu, they could well be in a position to bring in a new striker with the funds, and place in the squad, that will be made available in his absence.
