Newcastle fans love a grafter. Having a couple of players who, whether they’re in form or out of it, will always put in 110% to try and claw their side over the line. In this current crop of Geordies, the man who most fits that description is Matt Ritchie, and the St James Park faithful simply cannot get enough of the Scottish winger.

Ritchie was interviewed outside of Newcastle’s training ground about the recent business that their club has conducted to bring the Paraguayan midfielder, Miguel Almiron to the club. Ritchie claimed that he doesn’t think the price tag will get to the ex-Atlanta United star even though he’s the man to have finally broken the club’s transfer record after 14 years, and the Magpies have been left singing Ritchie’s praise.
Newcastle fan account, NUFC360, quoted the interview of Ritchie claiming that he made the comments on Almiron because nothing fazes him and that he’s ‘made of gravel’ leading to a whole host of Newcastle fans getting in on the at and throwing praise at the impressive Scottish midfielder. All they need now is for Ritchie to step up at Wembley and perform against Spurs, just as he did in the week against Manchester City.
You can read the Magpies’ thoughts on Ritchie here:
I love this guy. May not be technically the best player ever. But my goodness me does he put in a shift. Always chasing, always tackling. Reminds me of Kevin Nolan. Top professional.

Extremely reminiscent to Jonas to me. No nonsense left midfielder made of grit and gravel, cracker of a left, two of the most passionate players to wear the shirt in the last decade.

Hes a gangster, hard as a coffin nail. Hes been the grit that got us promoted and been driving us forward since. First on the team sheet for me

Ritchie is the ultimate pro, always gives 110% even if he's not the best player in the world or has a mare he never stops.

Newcastle fans cannot get enough of Ritchie and will hope he can put in a blinder in the capital today to down Tottenham.
