Since the Slovakian shot-stopper made the move to play in England last January, Martin Dubravka has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. Rafa Benitez really unearthed a gem in the 30-year-old and two mistakes against Tottenham and Wolves aren’t going to change that at all.
Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka addressed his difficult start to 2019 in an in-depth interview with NUFC TV.

As is normal with the English press, whenever a top-flight footballer starts to go through a rough patch of form the crisis talks start. However, the Magpies are determined to not let it get to that and they’re standing strong behind their goalkeeper as they still believe he’s one of their best players, even if he has cost them a few points in the last couple of weeks.
Iker Casillas famously said that being a good goalkeeper is like being a good human being, no matter how many goals you save some people will remember only the one you missed. That could not be truer of the Slovakian at Newcastle as he’s saved the club dozens of points in his time at St James Park yet after two small errors he’s been scrutinised beyond belief.
You can read the Magpies’ thoughts on Duravka here:
Poor sod must have felt like he had no other choice than to do this. Kudos for speaking out.

There’s one lad between the sticks. If only the rest would apologise for their legion errors throughout the season, things’d be a lot fairer. You’ve been a rock for us at the back, man. Divvent fret, bonny lad

He's a great keeper and a wonderful guy. I'm so happy we've got him. @HecoDubravka

He’s cost us 3 points in the last 2 games but he’s saved us many more since he arrived. He saved us 3 points on his debut against Man Utd on his own

Best keeper since shay given

Great keeper, 2 mistakes in 2000 better than most. If no mistakes there would be know learning or improvements. Very pleased you are our keeper.

Love this lad!
Best keeper I've ever seen first hand at #NUFC.

We will always support you through thick and thin martin, simple as that

The Geordies are fully behind their shot-stopper and will hope he can put his mistakes behind him and get back to his very best.
