Newcastle growing concerned with Jamaal Lascelles

Newcastle United are starting to become concerned with one of their key men following summer interest.

According to a report by The Daily Mail, West Ham United’s pursuit of Jamaal Lascelles has concerned the Magpies and they are worried that it has had a negative impact on the defender.

The captain, who is alleged to have had a bust-up with Matt Ritchie and has criticised Rafa Benitez for his choice of tactics against Chelsea, has cast doubt over his future at St. James’ Park.

It is believed things have all been patched up, however, there is concern that the interest from the London Stadium outfit may have given the 24-year-old an idea of leaving the north-east outfit.

Lascelles missed the game against Chelsea, although his manager revealed that he is suffering from an ankle injury, and has since apologised for his actions.

The Verdict:

Newcastle will be hoping to move past all of this in the near future and will be hoping things turn around quickly.

Lascelles still remains a favourite with the Toon Army faithful and is thought to have a solid relationship with his manager.

The £13.5million-rated enforcer, as per Transfermarkt, was vital to the Magpies last season and he will be crucial to them again this year, as long as he is playing his best football for the club.
