Newcastle United need a big January transfer window if they are to stand any chance of securing a European spot in the current campaign.
The Magpies have definitely improved under Rafa Benitez as the season has progressed, but there’re a lot of underlying problems that need to be ironed over.
Interestingly, it appears as if the Tyneside club are making moves to complete a signing, as according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via The Newcastle United Blog), Newcastle have put in a bid for Miha Zajc.
It’s thought that Newcastle have put in a bid for Empoli’s attacking midfielder Miha Zajc.
However, Huddersfield Town are also believed to be interested, with the player himself considering two offers made to him from the two English clubs.
Indeed, he has impressed over the years at Italian side Empoli, scoring 11 goals and providing 20 assists in 66 total appearances for them.
Miha Zajc has featured 11 times for the Slovenian national side and is continuously impressing in the Serie A, so it comes as no surprise that Newcastle are making moves by reportedly placing a bid.
Huddersfield Town are currently in a relegation battle, so moving to St James’ Park seems like the most likely option for the central defender.
