Newcastle look like being involved in a Premier League relegation battle this term as Rafa Benitez struggles to get in the signings he wants to bolster his Magpies squad going into 2018.
The Spaniard will be hoping for a speedy resolution to takeover talks between Mike Ashley and any potential new investment, while the Newcastle fans will be giving it their all to roar their team to safety and secure their place in the top flight for next term.
Here in the Tavern, our landlord is hopeful the Toon can stay put, and he loves having a few beers with the Toon Army over a weekend. This week has been no exception, with plenty of Geordies making their way to the bar and having some big discussions about potential new signings.
One such player who our landlord thinks the club need to go all out to buy is Nottingham Forest youngster Ben Brereton, who has come into an excellent run of form of late for the Reds despite their change in manager and lowly league position.
The youngster is looking like developing into a top talent and is easily considered one of the brightest prospects outside of the Premier League.
With a host of clubs likely to be scrambling for his signature over the summer, Newcastle should jump the queue and make sure they put up the money to secure the signing of Brereton in this transfer window.
Toon Army, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
