Newcastle United are interested in making another addition to their squad this summer as they look to continue their efforts to strengthen.
The Magpies will be trying to improve on last season’s campaign, where they struggled in the first half of the year but were outstanding during the latter part of the season.
Rafa Benitez has already added a few names to his side, including some of those from last season that impressed, however, it appears he could still be in the market for more.
According to a report in The Times, Newcastle are thought to be interested in a move for Crystal Palace’s Jairo Riedewald. The 21-year-old is thought to be available for a transfer after Palace tried to use him in a swap deal with Swansea City for Jordan Ayew but the Dutchman did not want to go.
The Dutchman struggled to make a real impact at Crystal Palace once Frank de Boer was sacked, however, he started to show his ability in the latter stages of the season.
Riedewald could be an option for Newcastle to consider this summer as he can play in the middle of the field or in defence, giving Benitez some much-needed depth to his squad.
The 21-year-old would not necessarily be a starter at St. James’ Park, however, he would be expected to challenge for a place and could get his Premier League career back on track with the Magpies.
