Newcastle United managed to secure a memorable victory against Manchester City on Tuesday night, which sent St James’ Park into an absolute frenzy.
The Magpies will be desperate to build on their last outing as they look to move up the table, with the relegation zone still a slight worry at this moment in time. Although, it appears as if Rafa Benitez is looking to strengthen before the deadline, as according to journalist Phil Cadden, Newcastle are interested in Markus Henriksen.
Newcastle United are interested in signing Henriksen, with the Hull City midfielder valued at £5 million.
Indeed, the 45-cap Norway international has been one of the standout performers for Hull in the current campaign, with two goals to his name at this moment in time. The 26-year-old operates in the middle of midfield, with his strongest attributes being his tackling and passing ability, as well as adopting a dogged approach.
Markus Henriksen would be a solid addition for the Magpies as they’re currently lacking quality in the middle of the park, with a £5 million fee for one of the best midfielders in the Championship looking very reasonable.
Jonjo Shelvey has been without a quality partner in the middle of midfield for a long period of time now, so Benitez can finally solve that problem by signing Henriksen.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
