Newcastle United currently find themselves in a spot of bother, with just two points separating them from Cardiff City in the relegation zone.
The January transfer window was always going to be important for the Magpies as they’ve lacked quality at times in the current campaign, with plenty of areas for improvements.
Importantly, it appears as if Rafa Benitez has his sights set on a possible swoop, as according to The Mirror, Newcastle are monitoring Yannick Bolasie’s situation with an eye to making a move.
Of course, with Kenedy struggling to grind out positive performances in the current campaign, perhaps Bolasie is being eyed as a potential replacement for the Brazilian.
Indeed, the Congo international has demanded a move to another Premier League club this month after cancelling his season-long loan deal at Championship side Aston Villa.
Although, the Magpies aren’t the only team taking an interest as the likes of Burnley and Cardiff City are both monitoring the situation, while Crystal Palace are keen to bring him back to Selhurst Park.
Yannick Bolasie, who is valued at £13.5 million (by Transfermarkt), was impressive during his time at Aston Villa as he managed to produce two goals and five assists.
The Magpies are in need of the winger’s creativity, pace and skill as they’ve looked rather flat in the final third in the current campaign, despite Salomon Rondon’s brilliance at the pinnacle of the attack.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
