Sky Sports presenter Keith Downie has been left blown away by Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak after his dazzling first-half display against Wolves.

The Lowdown: Alexander Isak masterclass

Eddie Howe's men got their top four push back on track today as the Magpies ended up securing a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, with goals from Isak and Miguel Almiron doing the job.

They were very dominant, which will please Howe, with a whopping 17 shots at goal.

The Latest: Isak was 'brilliant' for Newcastle

Keith Downie was loving the sight of Isak terrorizing Wolves' defence in the first-half, tweeting:

"That was a brilliant first-half display by Alexander Isak. A bit of everything from the Swede. Wolves can’t handle him — he looks razor sharp  #NUFC"

The Verdict: Newcastle's shining light

Isak was the one shining light for Newcastle, which made it rather surprising to see him being taken off for Callum Wilson in the 68th minute.

The 25-year-old's stats don't do his performance any justice as he won two tackles, won seven duels, blocked two shots and scored with a header (Sofascore). However, it was the pressing and constant runs in behind that had the Wolves defence shaking, as they just couldn't keep him under control at any point in the game.

This was a vital three points for the Magpies as it allowed them to jump back above Liverpool into fifth position, with the Champions League dream very much still alive.
