Newcastle United failed to secure all three points on Saturday as they were held to a goalless draw by Fulham at St James’ Park.
The Magpies have certainly improved in recent times but there’re still a number of improvements to be made. Indeed, the January transfer window will play a huge part in their season, and it appears as if the Tyneside club are already eyeing a possible addition, as according to the Daily Mirror (22/12; page 68) (via HITC), Newcastle are preparing a potential loan bid for Sam Lammers in January.
It’s understood that Newcastle United are reportedly monitoring Sam Lammers ahead of a potential January move.
Interestingly, the youngster is currently on loan at Dutch side Heerenveen, and has scored nine goals in 18 appearances in all competitions.
Newcastle are ‘exploring a possible loan with a view to a permanent switch’. And, it’s believed that the final decision will lie with PSV, which suggests that Heerenveen may be powerless to prevent him leaving next month.
Sam Lammers has all the ingredients to become a future star in the Premier League, having shown that he can ensure a consistent flow of goals over in Holland.
Bringing him in on loan is a very sensible idea as this will allow the Magpies to take a good look at him, with the opportunity to go ahead and purchase him permanently if he lives up to expectations.
