Leicester City have been rather impressive in the current campaign, but they’ll have to be a whole lot better if they want to secure a European spot.
The Foxes have a lot of dangerous attacking outlets that have certainly hit the heights this season, but defensive solidity has been an issue at times. And, things don’t look too promising on the managerial front, as according to le10Sport, Newcastle are looking at reported Leicester City target Leonardo Jardim.
It’s thought that Newcastle are keeping tabs on Jardim should Rafael Benitez part company as the Magpies’ manager.
This is a setback for Leicester City as they have also been linked with a move for the former AS Monaco boss, with Claude Puel’s future constantly up in the air due to the high demands of the club’s owners.
So, there could be a race to secure the services of the South American, who has a reputation for developing some of the world’s hottest prospects and winning the French title.
Leonardo Jardim made a name for himself during his time in France, with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Thomas Lemar thriving under his guidance.
Although, with Newcastle United now also in the hunt and possibly waving goodbye to Rafa Benitez if results continue to go against them, they could lose out on the 44-year-old.
